A video has emerged that shows aggressive scenes between a man and a woman during a night in Galway city.
The shocking 17-second video obtained by Galway Beo, shows a young man and woman engaged in a heated argument on the footpath between Williamsgate Street and Eglinton Street.
The pair are surrounded by a group of people, one of whom recorded the altercation.
The footage shows the situation escalating quickly, with a third person jumping in to hold back the man. The man, who is wearing a white t-shirt, can be seen acting aggressively and throwing his drink towards the woman and subsequently his empty cup also.

Just seconds later, the man goes back despite the third person attempting to stop him. He then reaches the lady, appears to slap her, grab her face and drag her to the ground - at which point the video stops.
A Garda spokesman told Galway Beo: "Gardai are investigating an assault that occurred on Williamsgate Street, Galway at approximately 2:20am on Thursday, February 2, 2023. There were no serious injuries reported. Enquiries are ongoing."
In another video, also obtained exclusively by Galway Beo, a massive brawl can be seen taking place in Eyre Square in Galway city centre over the weekend.
The footage shows what appears to be one man on the ground who is surrounded by a group of people at the taxi rank who are attempting to kick him.
One young man can be seen being held back by another man before breaking free from his release before trying to land a kicking blow to the grounded man.
Another man, dressed in a black jacket, can be seen kicking in the direction of the grounded man's head before being pushed away by a man in a greyish jumper.
Parts of the surrounding group disperse down the street in the direction of Shop Street as the man on the ground is helped up by other people at the scene.
