A dad was left perplexed during a Tesco shop when he saw what a cup of tea would cost - but not the reasons you'd suspect, The Mirror reports. Mark Hodgkinson had popped out to grab a few bits, including a new kettle for his mum.
But Mark, from Derbyshire, says he was surprised when looking at the receipt to notice the milk he had bought cost more than the appliance. The dad-of-five believes he found the "world's cheapest kettle" reduced to just £1.90, and "most expensive milk" in the same shop, with a six-pint bottle setting him back a whopping £2.35.
He said the 20% price difference was "unjustifiable". The kettle, which is 1.71l and was retailing at £13.90 on the Tesco website, had it's price slashed in store, which prompted him to grab another two for himself and a friend.
