Shirley Ballas is celebrating her son's recent victory on America's version of Strictly Come Dancing.
Mark Ballas, son of the Strictly judge, and his celebrity dance partner, TikTok sensation Charli D’Amelio, were announced as the winners of the 31st season of Dancing With the Stars yesterday.
Shirley - who recently expressed an interest in starring on I'm A Celebrity - stayed up past her usual bedtime to watch her son's victory over the pond and took to her Instagram Stories to share her excitement at seeing Mark lift the American equivalent of the Glitterball trophy.
Speaking to her Instagram followers late last night, the professional dancer, 62, said: "So, I've stayed up all night. It’s now 3.00 am in the morning and my son, beautiful son Mark and Charli just won the Mirrorball trophy.
"I want to give a huge thank you to Harry who’s kept me abreast everything, and Corky all night. Nanny and I have been here, who just got up now, to have a little brandy, because out nerves have gone."
The proud mum added: "Huge congratulations to Mark for a beautiful season, to Charli for really working hard, and to all the beautiful fans, Courtney and Mark and Charli fans, thank you for keeping me in the loop.
"You are all superstars. Really appreciate it. Thank you...Oh my God!"
Despite winning the show for the third time, Mark hasn't yet decided if he will be appearing on the next series of Dancing With the Stars.
"I don’t know [if I’m coming back]," the dancer told US after lifting the Mirrorball trophy. "You know the older I get, I try to stay very present in the moment, you know, and I think that was like a big part of creating these dances."
He added: "Every week I put, I tried to put every aspect of creativity, care, musicality, nuance into each one. I think you can only do that by staying totally in the moment of each time.
"So, right now I’m in this moment with Charli and … my body couldn’t even fathom a thought of doing this [in] six months, so I’ll let you know down the line."
Mark's mum Shirley recently emotionally shared that her proudest achievement this year was reuniting with the Dancing With the Stars professional.
The Strictly head judge had been torn apart from her only child for a heartbreaking three years due to the coronavirus pandemic as Mark, 35, worked in Los Angeles, while she was in the UK.
Thankfully, the pair have been able to reunite thanks to restrictions related to coronavirus lifting across the globe.
