KALYAN: Hitting out at PWD minister Ravindra Chavan of BJP for 'advising' CM Eknath Shinde to "wash away his sins" by giving a go-ahead to road works in Dombivli, Shinde loyalist and former Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation standing committee chairman Dipesh Mhatre said: "Chavan was three-time MLA from Dombivli and yet failed to do any development work. He has no right to accuse others to cover his own sins."
Directly mentioning Shinde, Chavan on Sunday had said the erstwhile BJP-led government had sanctioned Rs 472 crore for road projects in Dombivli and tenders were issued, but the plan was stalled after the MVA came to power. "Who stopped those sanctioned works, everyone knows. I have raised the question many times before him [Shinde]...but never got an answer," Chavan said. "Now, Shinde saheb (CM) is also minister of urban development and MMRDA head. It's his responsibility to sanction road projects so that his past sins are washed away."
