SHIMLA: The Congress sees the Shimla municipal corporation polls as a key contest before the assembly elections due at the year-end. All-India Congress Working Committee member Rajeev Shukla, in charge of party affairs in Himachal Pradesh, said the winning streak shouldn’t break.
He asked the state party leadership to fulfil all responsibilities. Presiding over a meeting of the coordination committee for the Shimla MC elections, Shukla said the Congress had won the state byelections because of people’s verdict against price rise and unemployment, so his suggestion for the MC polls would be to talk to people about their problems and make them aware of the "unfriendly policies of the central government".
