Sherri Shepherd lands 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards nomination after show gets axed

Sherri Shepherd has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy

Kelly Clarkson and Sherri Shepherd are competing at the Daytime Emmy Awards after the end of their talks shows.

The first batch of nominations have been unveiled for the 2026 Daytime Emmys before the full list is announced on Tuesday (14.07.26), after the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences revealed the shortlists for four categories on Monday.

Kelly, who previously confirmed she was stepping down from The Kelly Clarkson Show, is nomination for both Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.

Sherri, whose eponymous show was cancelled earlier this year, is also in the running for the host prize.

That field is rounded off by Tamron Hall, Jennifer Hudson, and The View's Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.

Meanwhile, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be competing with The View, Today with Jenna and Friends, Live with Kelly and Mark, 3rd Hour of Today, and The Drew Barrymore Show.

The Daytime Emmys have also revealed the nominees for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series.

In the actress category, Beyond the Gates duo Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) and Tamara Tunie (Anita Williams Dupree) fill face off.

They're joined on the shortlist by Days of Our Lives star Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera), The Young and the Restless' Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and The Bold and the Beautiful actress Heather Tom (Katie Logan).

As for the male side, Heather's castmates Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer) and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) are both in the running.

The Young and the Restless also has two more nods here, with Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin) on the shortlist.

The nominees in the category are rounded off by General Hospital star Steve Burton, who is recognised for his role as Jason Morgan.

ATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said in a statement: "We’re proud to honour the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television.

"As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”

The 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held in Hollywood on October 30, while a host is yet to be confirmed.
