Sheriff's Office Seeks 30 Suspects In Intersection Takeover Incident

Incident at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing in Niagara Falls

A recent incident in central Florida has prompted the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) to launch a search for 30 individuals who were part of an 'intersection takeover' that caused chaos and damage. The event took place at the intersection of South John Young Parkway and Central Florida Parkway on Nov. 30, where a large group of people engaged in reckless and dangerous behavior.

According to the OCSO's Facebook post, the mob blocked the intersection, set a fire in the roadway, and proceeded to perform dangerous stunts with vehicles, such as donuts around the flames. They also harassed innocent drivers, preventing them from passing through the area. In a disturbing scene captured on video, shouts of concern for a baby in one of the blocked cars can be heard.

The suspects went as far as climbing on and damaging vehicles, with one Tesla driver reporting an estimated $60,000 worth of damage to his car after individuals jumped on it and kicked the windshield until it broke. Some of the perpetrators attempted to conceal their identities, while others recorded the chaos on their cell phones.

Dave Nutting, a law enforcement specialist and retired deputy with the sheriff's office, expressed sympathy for the innocent bystanders caught up in the incident, emphasizing the disruption caused to their daily lives. The OCSO condemned the reckless and violent behavior, highlighting the serious danger it poses to the community.

Despite the mayhem, no arrests or injuries have been reported thus far. The sheriff's office has urged anyone who recognizes the individuals in the video footage to contact Crimeline at 800-423-8477. Informants can choose to remain anonymous when providing information to the hotline.
