Sheridan Smith's son in No Return has a very famous father

ITV's latest drama No Return has left viewers on the edge of their seats following a huge plot twist.

The first episode saw Kathy, Martin and their two teenagers, Noah and Jess, jet off on their annual holiday.

They were joined by Kathy’s more affluent sister, Megan, her workaholic husband, Steve, and their son, Fred.

Staying at an all-inclusive holiday in Turkey, the family hoped they could switch off and spend quality time together.

But, the drama started when Noah headed off to a beach party.

However, Noah was later accused of sexual assault - something he thoroughly denies - and dragged away by Turkish police in handcuffs.

But fans of the show may be surprised to learn the actor that plays Noah, Louis Ashbourne Serkis, comes from brilliant acting stock.

Louis' parents are Marvel and Lord of the Rings star, Andy Serkis, while his mother, Lorraine Ashbourne, is the star of Bridgerton and The Crown and she's had roles in basically all the top UK dramas of the past 20-odd years, reports WalesOnline.

Louis also starred opposite - and was directed by - his dad Andy in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle in 2018 and in 2019 the father and son were interviewed in New York where he spoke about how proud he was of his youngest child.

He said: "I'm just extraordinarily proud. Seeing him go through all the work, the training, the buildup and then the filming.

"All my kids are just growing up. We try and keep things normal when we're at home, but it's very special to have them see things going on. They're experiencing travelling and seeing the world... having their experiences broadened. It's great."

Andy, who played Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther, Avengers: Age of Ultron and What If.., has been with Lorraine since 1990 after they fell in love at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

Lorraine starred in '90s women's football drama, Playing the Field, The Bill, Silent Witness, Clocking Off, series two of Unforgotten and in Bridgerton she's seen as Mrs Varley. She's also the main character in BBC2 comedy, Alma's Not Normal.

Louis, who is 17, filmed No Return during the summer holidays.

He said: "I feel incredibly proud to have been part of No Return. It is a powerful and important topical piece of writing, and I feel honoured to have worked with such an amazing cast and crew and to have portrayed the challenging role of Noah."

His elder siblings, Ruby and Sonny, are also in the acting business and starred in Kevin Allen's last Welsh-made film, La Cha Cha.

No Return is on ITV, Mondays at 9pm. Catch up on ITV Hub.
