Shein shoppers have mocked the online fashion brand for selling a pair of 'denim shorts' that many say look more like a thong. The retailer is currently offering a pair of the 'Low Rise Booty Denim Shorts' for £9.49 - and they really do live up to their 'low rise' name.
Many shoppers have taken to social media to point out the online store's denim offering, with several left equal parts amused and confused. On Facebook, Danielle C Butler uploaded a screenshot of the shorts, writing: "Why they playing with people this is a denim thong not shorts."
One user, Claire, replied back: "That [got to] be so uncomfortable and not healthy at all lmao," while Donald joked: "And low rise... lol." Another Facebook user, Scooter Lisa, was also taken about by the 'shorts'.
Along with an image of the fashion item, she wrote: "Wait what? They’re calling these SHORTS?! I would have named the item denim thong bikini/undies. Wow… just wow." Emily also shared her amusement: "Shorts? lol more like a thong made of denim. Wtf even is this?"
Katrice added: "I can feel the rash just looking at them." Linda asked: "Good Lord why." Angela said: "That looks very uncomfortable." Mary quipped: "If I put on something like that it would clear the area!"
The 'shorts' come in five different shades - black, dark blue, light blue, pastel blue and distressed wash - and sizes range from small to extra large. Despite the hilarity online, the item has hundreds of glowing reviews on Shein and currently boasts an impressed 4.73 stars out of five.
One shopper who gave five stars wrote: "Love them, very sexy [but] a bit uncomfortable." Another added: "These fit me, look funny, somewhere between underwear and jeans shorts. do not wear this outside ever though ha ha ha."
A third put: "Material and fitting is perfect. The colour as in the picture." A fourth gushed: "Sooo happy with this purchase! Looks even better in person." A fifth declared: "These are tiny but awesome! I am in love! Super sexy and a great shape over the bum."
