A tiny pair of leather thong shorts have had Shein shoppers in stitches, with some comparing the outrageous item to a "loin cloth". The £12.99 cropped shorts aren't much bigger than underwear, complete with a thong-style back.
The daring ‘Apperloth A Pocket Patched PU Leather Shorts’ come in sizes 6 to 16, and brave wearers can opt for a black, silver, or tan shade. Shoppers have been left wincing at the thought of the minuscule shorts, and have been surprised to see that they actually come with handy pockets.
One person quipped, "There's pockets for your yeast infection cream! Hell yes!", while another marvelled, "The fact that the pockets are real…" A third shuddered: "When women ask for pockets, WE DON'T MEAN THIS ONES!"
Others weren't convinced the shorts could be even the slightest bit comfortable, with a third person gasping: "I don't want to look too closely but I think there's a situation happening in the front of those shorts."
A fourth browser winced: "Honey, I don't think there’s enough breathable fabric to be that far inside you."
Another fifth joked, "Somewhere, a camel is missing a toe. Miss Trunchbull vibes, haha", while a sixth mused, "Is it giving buttcheek loin cloth?"
This isn't the only time this year that Shein has made headlines for a barely-there piece of clothing. Just last month, customers were left similarly alarmed by a pair of denim thong shorts some declared were more of a "jean thong".
At just £11.99, Shein's eye-popping ‘Low Rise Booty Denim Shorts’ have a top metal button, zipper, and belt strap, much like most pairs of jeans.
Unlike most denim clothing items, however, these microscopic shorts cut off abruptly after the very first piece of stitching, leaving some fearing wearers "may never walk again".
One person commented, "I wouldn't feel comfortable putting them in my pants drawer", while another fretted, "Where do you put your loose change?"
