Shehan Karunatilaka wins Booker Prize 2022 for 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida'

Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunatilaka has been announced as the winner of the Booker Prize 2022 for his novel 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida'. Karunatilaka is the second author from Sri Lanka to win the prestigious award.

The winner announcement was made by Nei MacGregor, Chair of the judges-- Booker Prize 2022, during a gala ceremony at the Roundhouse in London, UK in the wee hours of October 18, 2022 IST. Karunatilaka's novel 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida' was selected as the winner from a shortlist of six books. Checkout the complete shortlist of the Booker Prize 2022 HERE.
