Dejected Sheffield United fans insist the "better team lost" after Nottingham Forest won a dramatic play-off semi-final second leg on penalties.
Three shootout saves from heroic goalkeeper Brice Samba saw Forest advance to the play-off final at Wembley on May 29. There was plenty of tension and emotion throughout the game, with Paul Heckingbottom creating a fracas on the touchline in the first half.
Blades fans on the whole seem proud of their team, with a little bitterness that they were not able to beat Forest. Below is a look at what Sheffield United fans have been saying on Twitter.

@isaac176 : What a game. Unreal tonight from United. Lottery when it goes to pens, Samba turned up tonight after 2 saves in the game and then 3 in the shootout. Nobody gave us a chance and it went to the last kick. Proud of the boys tonight
@Benjamin_Crofts : Tough one to go out like that Blades but we go again next season. Always UTB
@LordWattington : So gutting after an unbelievable comeback! Better team on the night… the narrative was all Forest and we almost broke them… Ndiye and MGW penalty part were outstanding. Ran their legs off
@KathyM9 : Proud of my boys tonight, gave it everything. Best team lost on the night, unfortunately penalties are a lottery.
@94BenClarke : Couldn’t ask for much more than that. To go away and put that kind of performance in against a side that’s not lost at home this year. Nothing to be ashamed of
@BernardCowens : Just buzzing we made a game of it. Forest are a great side and United matched em. To a man a reyt shift! Penalties and United always one loser. UTB.
@ijparkes : Didn’t see that second half coming, to a man fantastic. Probably should have won in normal time which I never expected. Gutted, but this is the United way
