Shea McGee's new summer collection is the perfect balance of chic and coastal – these are our favorite pieces

McGee & Co.'s summer collection.

Shea McGee is one of my absolute favorite interior designers. Not only does she incorporate the top interior design trends into her home in a way that feels timeless, but her goal is always to create lived-in pieces that can stand the test of time. Her new summer collection with her store McGee &Co. pays homage to these design principles, while infusing some coastal farmhouse style for refined interiors that are minimalist in nature.

‘Whether I’m designing or shopping, I’m drawn to refinement – those fine-tuned details that make a piece truly special,’ says Shea. ‘I also feel passionately that the home should be livable, with spaces that make you feel relaxed in your own environment. This combination of refinement and relaxation, beauty and comfort, is a contrast I aim for in every home and product I design. When you do it just right, you strike a beautiful balance of feeling both inspired and at ease. To me, that’s what good design, and our summer collection, is all about.’

This collection, therefore, sticks to the classics, but with a slight Shea McGee twist. Think a coastal-inspired palette, wood tones, stripes for layering, and staple pieces that are both nostalgic and contemporary. Everything is designed to be paired together, and some standouts from the collection include a soft linen chair, rattan trays and baskets for chic storage, and textured throws for chilly nights. The result is a series of inviting products that will lend a sense of comfort to any home, with a crafted elegance in each piece. These are my favorites from the new collection.

If you love timeless design that you’ll be able to incorporate into your home for years to come, Studio McGee is definitely a brand that should be on your radar. Their new summer collection uses neutral tones and elegant patterns to create interesting, yet minimalist pieces, allowing you to add a unique touch to your summer decor ideas.
