Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri wants Olivia Attwood to become the next Queen of the Jungle
(Picture: PA /ITV)Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri has thrown her support behind Olivia Attwood to become the next Queen of the Jungle.
Attwood is breaking new ground as the first Love Island star to appear on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! – and Ghouri, 23, is confidently putting all her eggs in the Essex beauty’s basket to win the series.
Speaking to the Standard while promoting The People’s Portraits National Lottery campaign, she told us: “I met Olivia at the NTAs. We had such a nice conversation and she’s such a sweet girl so I will be supporting her 100%.
“She’s going to smash it, she’s perfect for it.
“She’s got that personality that she’ll go for it and kill every single trial. I reckon she has a very good chance of winning,” Ghouri, who became Love Island’s first ever deaf contestant this year.
“I’ll be voting for her all the way.”
Although she’s fully behind Attwood’s jungle endeavours, don’t expect Ghouri to be putting herself forward for a trip Down Under, revealing that spiders are her Waterloo.
“I’m a Celebrity is definitely not for me. I mean I’d last about five minutes in there,” she shared.
“It’s the creepy crawlies, even the tiniest spiders, I freak out to the max. I think if the opportunity came, I don’t think it’s right for me. I wouldn’t last five minutes, I’d be out there within two seconds.”
While I’m a Celebrity isn’t on her vision board, a stint on Strictly Come Dancing certainly is after Rose Ayling-Ellis, who became the first deaf contestant to participate in the show’s history, took home the Mirrorball last year.
Ghouri shared: “I would love to do Strictly [Come Dancing]. It’s my major, major goal. Even as a little girl, I watched Strictly on TV. I’ve always said to mom and dad, ‘one day I want to do Strictly’.
“I hope one day that could happen and obviously no Love Island contestant has done it before, so I mean it’d be amazing to even have the opportunity to even audition.
“It would genuinely be a dream come true to do something like that.”
The ITV2 star admitted that she doesn’t have a preference of who she’d like to dance with, man or woman, she just wants an opportunity to become the first Love Island star to take to the BBC ballroom.
“They’re all such amazing dancers on there, you know, I’d be happy with anyone no matter what gender, male or female,” she continued. “It would be such an amazing experience.”
Aside from career ambitions, Ghouri revealed that life has never been better after moving into her own place with Andrew Le Page, who she coupled up with from day one on Love Island.
Although the turbulent beginnings of their romance were broadcast for all to see on national television, they’re now stronger than ever with the model revealing that he’s got her Nana’s seal of approval.
She admitted: “Me and Andrew are literally blossoming every single day. This is a love I’ve never felt before.
“This love is so different to our experience. I’ve never really felt love until I’ve been with Andrew and every day, we’re just growing even stronger and stronger.
“He met my Nana the other day and that was just the cherry on top. She adores him. We’re just living our life and making sure we’re both happy, both in it together and that’s all that matters.”
And while things are going from strength to strength in their new apartment, she did say there’s something Le Page could work on – and that’s to stop leaving his clothes on the floor but he’d be forgiven given since he’s fairly domesticated.
Ghouri’s candour comes as she teamed up with The National Lottery to help celebrate the incredible achievements of deaf British signsong rapper Signkid by unveiling a showstopping sculpture at the Roundhouse.
The piece, created by Lazerian Studio, is an interpretation of his work, story and legacy, and features two hand-shaped sculptures that form the “V” shape, representing the BSL symbol for Visual.
The campaign shines a light on how the £30m raised every week by National Lottery players goes towards good causes across the UK.
