Shay Given trolls Kris Boyd after Celtic v Rangers as he tells pundit "keep your chins up"

Shay Given couldn't resist a dig at Kris Boyd after Celtic's 3-0 win over Rangers earlier this week.

The Hoops destroyed their Glasgow rivals at Celtic Park to go top of the league for the first time this season.

Given was among the 60,000 in attendance as Ange Postecoglou's side defeated Rangers for the first time since 2019.

Following the game, he posted on Instagram: "Great to be back in paradise last night. The Bhoys @celticfc did not disappoint. Keep your chins up @krisboyd.9."

Given and Boyd were both on Sky Sports News for their transfer deadline day coverage on Monday.

The Donegal man blanked Boyd following the former Rangers striker's goading over the signing of Aaron Ramsey.

As the evening rolled in, rumours of a Rangers swoop for Ramsey were growing stronger and Sky's presenter followed up on the story, stating that the Rangers official Twitter account had tweeted to suggest an announcement of the signing was imminent.

Boyd's reaction to the news - which included the fact that Rangers had tweeted the 'fist bump' emoji - was to turn towards Given and offer him a fist bump.

Given turned and saw Boyd's outstretched arm before he quickly shook his head at the former Gers striker.

After that refusal, Boyd slapped him on the shoulder and began to clap excitedly, much to the disgust of Given.

But the former Republic of Ireland international had the last laugh following Wednesday's result.
