Shawn Mendes has been forced to postpone his Wonder world tour citing mental health reasons.
The 23-year old Canadian pop hunk revealed the news on Instagram on Friday explaining that he had 'hit a breaking point'.
The Senorita singer recently performed a handful of shows in his native Canada, but has now put back a number of forthcoming dates south of the border in the US.
In a statement released to his 69 million followers, the star wrote: "This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I'm going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice.
"I've been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it's always been difficult to be away from friends and family. After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I've hit a breaking point."
He continued: "After speaking with my team and professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost.
"As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know. Love you guys."
Despite their disappointment fans were quick to offer their full support to the Treat You Better star, with more than 25,000 responding to him within 20 hours.
One upset Instagram user commented: "So heartbroken. I waited so long to meet you but we will meet soon. Was supposed to see you tomorrow."
Another wrote: "I love you so much. I hope you were able to take some time and relax and take care of you because at the end of the day all we care about is your health and happiness. I hope you realise that none of us are mad or upset. We will wait for whenever you are ready to come back because we value you and your health more than anything in this world. Sending you lots of love."
A third declared: "Your physical and mental health will always be more important. We understand you and we are with you. We love you."
Countless celebrities also weighed in with comforting words, with Rita Ora leading the encouragement.
"Mental health and physical health is the most important. Protect it. See you on the other side my brother," she said.
Boxer Ryan Garcia added: "Sending love brother! You are strong and amazing. Love you."
And author Jay Shetty said: "So much love for you. Proud of you for taking care of yourself."
Mendes will hopefully resume the tour next month when he is due to take to the stage in Philadelphia.
