Shawhead’s Gregor Hiddleston has secured a deal with Glasgow Warriors.
The former Dumfries Saint has signed on a partnership contract with FOSROC Super6 side Stirling Wolves, where he has been impressing in recent months.
The six-time Scotland Under-20 cap was invited to train with the Warriors during the summer and his physicality and dynamism while playing for Stirling has caught the eye.
The hooker, who is equally comfortable in the back row, also helped Glasgow win the Junior 1872 Cup at Scotstoun last year.
He told the Glasgow Warriors website: “I’m absolutely over the moon.
“I can’t wait to get going. I’ve learnt so much already since coming into Scotstoun and I’m excited to get stuck in. The Wolves have really pushed me on this last year or so, and I’m really grateful to them.
“The chance to play week in, week out in the Super6 has been massive and the standard has really helped me develop. For me, I just want to keep working hard and see how far I can go.
“I’m going to keep my head down, keep listening to the coaches and try to show what I can do.”
Warriors head coach, Franco Smith, added: “Gregor is someone the club have been watching closely during his time with the Stirling Wolves and we’re pleased to be able to offer him the opportunity to grow and develop as part of our squad.”
