Shaun Maloney slams Jack Ross as Hibs boss vents over predecessor's 'disrespectful' interview

Unhappy Shaun Maloney has claimed Hibs predecessor Jack Ross showed a lack of respect to his former club in the build-up of their win over Cove Rangers.

The former Easter Road boss broke his silence before the Scottish Cup clash and that decision has left Maloney smarting.

It comes amid Martin Boyle set for a £3m transfer to Al Faisaly and Ross ' revelation that he has been holding regular dialogue with his former star man.

And Maloney didn't miss in his post-match interview after his side's hard-fought 1-0 Scottish Cup victory over Cove Rangers.

He told Sportsound: "I think we’ll always miss a player of that quality.

“It’s not too easy but these things happen.

“It’s been really clear for the last week or so on that issue and now it looks like in the next 24 to 48 hours we’ll have more news on it.

“We had the previous manager come out and speak publicly today which was difficult. I found it quite disrespectful to me and my staff and the club, more importantly.

“That wasn’t appreciated.

“But the Martin thing, we'll know over the next couple of days but I have to say, the boy himself has been very professional.”
