Hibs boss Shaun Maloney refused to point the finger of blame at red carded Rocky Bushiri and insisted their point at Dundee could end up being a big one in the fight for the top six.
The Easter Road side, despite major injuries and a second half sending off managed to take a point at Dens Park.
Bushiri was set packing for a tussle with Paul McGowan but Maloney insisted he never got a clear view and the defender was disappointed with the decision.
Hibs boss Maloney said: "I have only seen one angle and I couldn't quite see it. I was happy with the performance. We could have been more incisive in the final third and we were a bit tentative.
"Rocky was a bit upset in the dressing room and disappointed so I will wait until I see it back on TV.
“It was a big point and I think it could be a big point for us come the end of the season.”
Dundee boss Mark McGhee praised his side for the character they showed in keeping a clean sheet after their weekend collapse against Livingston. He believes it can be the start of a Dark Blue survival bid - who are now one point behind second-bottom St Johnstone.
McGhee said: “We picked a much more experienced team and I was delighted that they all stepped up.
“It was a better shape and it’s something we can build on.
“That’s pleasing.
“Not taking the three points isn’t the most important thing, we have time to chip away at what we need.
“But we needed to find a way to do that and tonight was the first step in doing that.
“A point here and there for the two of us will be the way it is.
“But we’ll have no way of doing that without being consistent.
“If we repeat Saturday then we’d struggle but it was completely different and it does give us something to build on.”
McGhee confirmed he lost skipper Charlie Adam with a hamstring issue.
