Sharon Osbourne and Jeremy Kyle's new Talk TV show a ratings flop for launch

It’s a no from... pretty much everyone.

Sharon Osbourne’s new talk show has launched to a lukewarm reception, with just 20,000 viewers actually tuning in to watch Tuesday’s episode.

The former X Factor judge fronts The Talk alongside Jeremy Kyle, in her telly comeback after being axed from a US panel show – also called The Talk – last year.

Jeremy’s appearance marks a return to TV screens three years after his ITV daytime show was axed, following the death of guest Steve Dymond, who had failed a lie detector test.

But just 44,000 viewers tuned in for its launch night on Monday, and fewer than half came back for the second instalment.

The TalkTV broadcast follows Piers Morgan’s show, which attracted more than 200,000 viewers on Tuesday, most of whom switched off before Sharon and Jeremy.

These fig-ures come after the Mirror revealed a pilot episode of a show with Jeremy as the main host was scrapped as guests felt “uncomfortable” sharing a panel with him.

Sharon was sacked from CBS show The Talk after a heated debate about racism, watched by 1.5 million. After the broadcast, co-stars claimed she had made “racially insensitive” comments behind the scenes, which she denied.

In the aftermath of her firing, Sharon says she received death threats, as did her husband Ozzy and even their pet dogs.

Jack Whitehall got put in a headlock during one of his comedy sets – and even his security team laughed, thinking it was part of his show.

The comic, who has hosted the Brits four times, said comedians will “check themselves” in light of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock during this year’s Oscars.

“Most people think that it’s part of the show, so they don’t do anything,” he notes, recalling a time someone got on stage and put him in the wrestling move.

He says: “I felt quite vulnerable, but everyone was laughing in the room because they thought it was a bit of the show – the bouncers were laughing as well because they thought it was a set-up.

“Be careful who you pick on.”

Jada Pinkett Smith is probably safe from being the butt of any jokes for a while.
