Renowned filmmaker Suman Ghosh is back with another cinematic masterpiece, 'Puratawn' ('Ancient'), unveiling its first look to the eager audience. Starring veteran Indian actor Sharmila Tagore in the lead role, the film explores the complexities of aging and the challenges faced by a matriarch as she celebrates her 80th birthday.
In 'Puratawn,' Tagore portrays a matriarch whose birthday becomes the focal point of the narrative. As her daughter (played by Rituparna Sengupta, known for her work in 'Datta') and son-in-law (Indraneil Sengupta, seen in 'Aazam') join in the celebrations at their ancestral house, the unfolding events over the next week shape their collective journey. Produced by Rituparna Sengupta's Bhavna Aaj O Kal, the film is currently seeking a sales agent at the highly esteemed Berlin Film Festival's European Film Market.
