Cronulla will rest Nicho Hynes' problematic calf after the State of Origin series opener, omitting the NSW halfback from their team to face Brisbane in round 14.
Hampered by a right calf issue since early last month, Hynes is the only player on either Origin side who has not been named in the extended squad for their side's game this weekend - other than players whose teams have the bye.
