"Shark Tank" investor Kevin O'Leary has made his fair share of controversial statements when it comes to telling people how to run a successful business.
In mid-February, the entrepreneur and TV personality made got some blowback on comments he made about just how much a person should sacrifice in order for their business to succeed.
This week, he's back on his soap box with a special message for Walmart (WMT) employees (or similar retail workers) who are dissatisfied with their positions. His solution? Invent something and sell it to the mega-chain.

Even for some die-hard O'Leary fans, this was a spicy take to swallow. Many commenters felt that the investor was telling employees to just stop being poor. And with no mention of startup funding resources or tools, this broad-strokes comment does seem pretty out of touch.
One commenter said that he tends to agree with O’Leary's outlook, but then admitted that, in this situation, O'Leary seems “very far removed from the average person’s reality.”
Other respondents pointed out that O’Leary, who’s also known as Mr. Wonderful, has had some financial successes selling cryptocurrency — which many of them view as a “scam” that helped to make O’Leary wealthy at the expense of others.
