Two Northumberland hospitals are marking big birthdays in the next six weeks, and with the NHS to hit 75 in early July too, bosses at the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust want people to share their memories.
Wansbeck General in Ashington will turn 30 on June 6, while Hexham General marks its 20th birthday on July 10. The latter date is just days after the NHS as a whole will mark its 75th anniversary on July 5.
Wansbeck opened in 1993 and in addition to looking after patients, is now home to a state-of-the-art training him called DASH which uses simulations and technology to help train medical teams, while Hexham General is home to cutting edge scanning technology.

The NHS trust plans to hold celebrations at the hospitals with current and former members of staff, but bosses want to hear the memories of former patients and are encouraging anyone who's passed through the hospitals to share pictures too.
Brenda Longstaff, head of the Bright charity said: "We are delighted to be hosting these celebration events for Wansbeck and Hexham General Hospital. We’re really looking forward to getting together with staff and members of our local community to reminisce on all the happy memories of the hospitals over the years."
