The corporate watchdog is investigating the Australian share market operator for potential breaches of company laws over the bungled replacement of its transaction system.

Stock exchange operator ASX on Wednesday said the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) had launched a probe into suspected contraventions of the ASIC and corporations acts.
