This year, he transformed an elementary school in the Atlanta area into a winter wonderland for his annual Shaka Claus event, leaving hundreds of children surprised and overjoyed with gifts, clothes, meals, and more.
The tradition of Shaka Claus began 22 years ago when Shaq's mother, Dr. Lucille O'Neal, visited a Boys and Girls Club and recognized an opportunity to spread holiday cheer. She reached out to her son for support, and the idea quickly took shape. Dr. O'Neal, the founder of Shaka Claus, expressed her wish to do something special for children facing challenging circumstances, and Shaq, always eager to make a difference, was more than willing to oblige.
