Old habits die hard, and moving on from a role you held for nearly seven years means it’s bound to take some time for adjustment. Former ‘Undisputed’ co-host Shannon Sharpe, who’s now joined ESPN’s ‘First Take’ found that out recently during a segment with Stephen A. Smith.
As seen during a segment of ‘First Take,’ Sharpe was asked by Molly Qerim if the Chiefs are upset alert with Chris Jones during Week 1 against the Lions. As Sharpe began to answer the question, shifting the debate to Stephen A., he wrapped up his opening line by referencing his former TV mate.
“Yes, because if you think about it the Lions were favored to win that division, Skip — excuse me, I’m sorry, Stephen A.” Sharpe said.

You can’t be too hard on Sharpe for the moment, as you’d have to imagine that it’s not exactly easy going from one nationally public role to another without one or two minor hiccups. And credit to Stephen A. Smith for rolling with the punches, as he was quick to say “it’s alright, it’s alright” immediately after.
