Celebrated music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan lives in a sprawling six-floor residence in Navi Mumbai with his wife Sangeetha and their sons, Siddharth and Shivam. Shankar moved into the property around five years ago, and choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan recently visited his home, drawing comparisons between the lavish residence and Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia.
A six-floor Navi Mumbai home
The sprawling property features Shankar Mahadevan’s prized car collection, including a vintage Chevrolet. From the lobby, Farah and Shankar accessed a concealed lift hidden behind a door, which connects the different floors of the residence.

One of the highlights of the home is Shankar’s in-house recording studio, which he recently built so he could work without having to travel to a studio every day. The setup is part of the singer’s expansive home and allows him to continue his music work from the comfort of his residence.
A lavish kitchen and potli prawns
The residence also features a large kitchen fitted with an industrial-grade oven. Shankar used the kitchen to prepare his signature potli prawns during Farah’s visit. He revealed that his son Siddharth gifted him the oven for his 50th birthday.
Grammy, Padma Shri and National Awards
Shankar’s achievements also have a prominent place in the house. The residence features his Grammy Award and Padma Shri. The composer-singer has also won National Awards for both singing and composing.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi
The property has an expansive swimming area featuring a large jacuzzi, an LED television, a dining space and seating for around 20 people. The space also doubles as an entertainment area where the family and their friends gather to watch cricket matches.
A plush home theatre
The final stop of the tour was Shankar Mahadevan’s plush home theatre, where the family watches Netflix and other shows. The spacious setup adds another entertainment space to the six-floor residence.

For Shankar Mahadevan, music has always been more than a profession. A Grammy-winning artiste and four-time National Film Award winner, he has spent decades creating some of Indian cinema’s most memorable songs, including hits from Dil Chahta Hai, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Raazi, Dil Dhadakne Do and several others.
Today, one of his greatest joys is being able to share that musical journey with his sons, Shivam and Siddharth. For Mahadevan, performing alongside both his sons is the greatest blessing of his life. He considers himself fortunate to be able to share the stage with them as fellow musicians and experience a bond that extends beyond their relationship as a father and his children.
After years of pursuing music with sincerity, Mahadevan feels his sons have become not only an important part of his family but also two musical companions with whom he can discuss, create and share his passion for music.
Their relationship as musicians has made performing together particularly meaningful for the singer-composer. The stage has become an extension of their bond, allowing different generations to come together through music, exchange ideas and create as a family.
For an artiste who has spent decades performing on some of the biggest stages and receiving some of the highest honours in Indian music, Mahadevan’s greatest reward is not another award or hit song. It is the opportunity to continue making music alongside his sons and share the journey with them.
