Shania Twain has often spoken about the childhood experiences that shaped her, including going to school without breakfast or lunch. In 2010, she turned that memory into action by founding Shania Kids Can, a school-based programme created to support vulnerable children through food assistance, academic help, one-on-one guidance, and a safe place to belong. According to the Shania Twain Foundation, Twain has said that hunger left her without energy, enthusiasm, or motivation to interact with others during her school years.
