Shania Twain is a new judge on Starstruck replacing Sheridan Smith

Shania Twain has joined ITV’s Starstruck singing competition as a new judge.

The Canadian country singer will appear on the series when it returns on ITV in 2023.

Twain will be replacing the award-winning singer and actress Sheridan Smith on the panel of judges to join forces with singers Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight, and comedian Jason Manford on the series hosted by BBC’s The Voice coach and singer Olly Murs.

ITV’s head of entertainment, Katie Rawcliffe, confirmed the change, stating: “We just heard literally last night that we have a new judge joining the panel. She is the Queen of Country Pop and one of the biggest music artists of all time - Shania Twain!”

Contestants of the talent show transform into the biggest names in the business, including the likes of past legends such as Freddie Mercury, as the singers are all clad in fancy dress ready to perform.

By exchanging their own personas and becoming global superstars, contestants are in for a chance to win £50,000 as four teams of three singers go head-to-head each week until they reach the final.

Twain will be concluding her Las Vegas residency this September as she gets ready to head to the UK to be an expert judge on the talent contest.
