Shane Lowry looked particularly tender on Monday morning after his BMW PGA Championship victory at Wentworth. Lowry shot an impressive seven-under-par 65 on Friday to collect his first tour title since being crowned Open champion back in 2019.
The Irishman saw off fierce competition from his two Ryder Cup teammates in Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm to come away as champion at the DP World Tour’s flagship event. Afterwards Lowry understandably celebrated, but was no doubt left worse for wear the morning after.
Less than two hours after his Wentworth win, the Irishman uploaded a photo of himself enjoying a pint of beer alongside his trophy on Twitter.
Lowry also posted the photo on his Instagram story, which went on to be updated throughout the night, as well as after waking up the morning after.
The next snap the 35-year-old shared was a picture of him partying alongside One Direction member Niall Horan.
The morning after though, his smiles alongside Horan had turned to a hungover look with a coffee cup as Lowry gave fans an hilarious update on Monday morning. The Irishman posted the picture of him looking tender on Twitter with the caption: “Morning after the night before.”
Despite the hangover, the 35-year-old was no doubt over the moon with his week at Wentworth, revealing after his win on Sunday that he was ‘the happiest man in the world right now’. During his victory speech, Lowry also had time to take a dig at the LIV Golf rebels.

A total of 18 LIV members made their controversial return to the DP World Tour at the BMW PGA Championship this week and, following the tournament, the champion took a dig at the defectors, revealing that he won the title for ‘the good guys’ as golf’s ongoing civil war rages on.
He said: “This means so much to me… I wanted to go out and win this tournament for myself, first and foremost, but also for this tour and everyone that’s stayed loyal to this tour. I feel like this is one for the good guys.”
