Kris Boyd says Shaun Maloney is under pressure after missing out on a top six place.
And he believes Hearts asking for more Scottish Cup semi-final tickets while Hibs handed some back shows that punters aren't impressed with his tenure so far.
Despite taking the lead yesterday’s Edinburgh derby, their rivals came roaring back to win 3-1, securing third place, European football and banishing their opponents to the Premiership's bottom six in the process.
That was a major blow ahead of next week's encounter at Hampden, and Boyd believes the contrasting ticket sales indicates the modd of the supporters.
“I think there’s always pressure,” he told Sky Sports. “There’s a lot of it surrounding the job.
“I don’t think Jack Ross should’ve lost his job. He did, and you're then looking for a response. I don’t think it’s been there.
“People will say the semi-final is crucial. I’m not going to loose any sleep over it, whatever happens.
“The telling factor is the ones who will if they lose it are the Hibs fans.
“The fact that Hearts are asking for more tickets and Hibs are giving theirs back suggest to me that they’re not happy with what’s going on at Easter Road.
“Could Shaun turn it around if he’s given the opportunity and time? Yes, but we all know football and you don’t get time. You've got to get results.
“There’s lots of things you can look at. You can say you want to change the culture of the football club, you want to do this and that.
“But why Scottish football is so successful and why everybody loves it is because of what’s on the pitch.
“Owners have come and other people will stand behind and talk about this magnificent work off the pitch.
“But if the product on the pitch is not producing, that impacts on everything and that’s what it is at this moment in time.
“There’s other clubs doing fantastic things away from the football pitch. But if you're not producing on it, then there’s consequences for that.
“The Hibs support suggests that not everything is rosy.”
