Shakira's ex Gerard Piqué goes Instagram official with new girlfriend 12 years his junior

Gerard Piqué has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend Clara Chia.

At 35, the Spanish footballer is 12 years the senior of his PR student girlfriend, who is 23.

The couple were first linked in August, weeks after it was announced that Piqué and singer Shakira, 45, had split after 11 years, sparking infidelity speculation. Shakira has alluded to these rumours in her recent music.

Piqué looked besotted beside girlfriend Chia in their first photo posted together on social media on Wednesday.

The pair were seen sitting close to each other beside a table outside as Chia appeared to take their joint selfie.

In matter of hours, the photo has already received over 2 million likes by fans.

The Instagram official post comes amid Piqué and Shakira’s public feud, following their split last summer.

Shakira referenced her bitter break-up with Piqué in recent ‘diss track’ BZRP Music Sessions Vol 53, as she suggested he cheated on her with his new girlfriend.

Shakira’s lyrics in the song appear to indicate that, between herself and Chia, she believes there’s no comparison, with the lyrics translating to: “I’m worth two 22s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”

The Hips Don’t Lie singer reportedly “worked out” that ex Piqué had been unfaithful with student Chia after discovering an empty jam jar in her fridge.

According to ShowNews Today, Shakira deduced from this that her ex had been “cheating” as Piqué and their two children don’t eat jam, leading to their split.

Shakira appeared to re-enact this moment of discovery in her latest music video for the song Te Felicito, as she opens up a fridge to find collaborator Rauw Alejandro’s head in a jar inside.

Last summer, Shakira said in a joint statement with Piqué about their split: "We regret to confirm that we are parting ways.

“For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding."

In the same week Piqué has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Shakira was seen in good spirits while stood on her balcony outside her home in Barcelona.
