Londoners have been warned of a severe risk of wildfires as the capital braces itself for its second heatwave of the year, with temperatures forecast to rise above 35C.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has issued an alert highlighting the extreme risk posed by the combination of high temperatures and very low rainfall, which have created tinder-dry conditions across the capital’s open spaces.
