Currently, there is a tornado-warned storm looming just outside the Dallas area, heading towards Tyler, Texas, and Dallas. A flash flood warning is in effect, with the situation persisting since the morning hours. Doppler radar has detected twisting motion in these storms, prompting severe thunderstorm watches in place. These watches cover the Dallas-Fort Worth area and are now extending towards the eastern part of Texas, including Tyler, Texas, until 12 p.m. local time.
The severe storm threat is widespread across Texas, reaching areas from Oklahoma to Louisiana. Residents in Dallas, Waco, Austin, and up towards Abilene are advised to stay vigilant as watches and warnings are expected to continue throughout the day. Over the past few days, there have been a staggering 76 tornado reports, nearly 400 wind reports, and close to 700 hail reports, making it a challenging weekend for many individuals.
