LUCKNOW: On May 21, 2016, as the clock struck 8.30am, Aparna Kumar, an IPS officer and a mother of two, was on top of the world, literally, as she had become the first police officer to scale the mighty Mount Everest. Seven years on, Kumar, who has already completed the seven-summit challenge, is looking forward to reaching the North Pole. The expedition is getting delayed due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
‘Seven Summits’ are the highest mountains of each of the seven traditional continents across the world. Climbing to the summit of all of them is regarded as a mountaineering challenge. She has also been to the South Pole.
