Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating a targeted shooting incident that left seven individuals wounded, including a 16-year-old girl. The gunfire erupted on Wednesday evening on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street, with the shooters still at large.
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector Scott Small, the shooters intentionally fired into a crowd, possibly targeting someone within the group. The victims, aged between 16 and 47, were all taken to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
Among the injured were two females with leg wounds, another female and two males with arm or leg injuries, a 16-year-old girl with a graze wound to her abdomen, and an 18-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her back.
Investigators believe that the shots were fired from a semiautomatic weapon and suspect that one to three shooters exited a dark-colored, four-door sedan with yellow tape or plastic on the rear trunk before opening fire on the crowd.
Police are appealing to the public for any information regarding the suspects or the vehicle involved in the shooting. The authorities are also reviewing footage from private surveillance cameras in the neighborhood in hopes of gathering more evidence to aid in the investigation.
As the investigation continues, no further details about the suspects have been released. Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to come forward to assist law enforcement in apprehending those responsible for the violent attack.
