People across Nottinghamshire may be able to access a £650 payment to help them with the cost of living crisis. The new plan was set out by the Chancellor Rishi Sunak on Thursday.
The new support includes help for low-income families, pensioners and those who receive health and disability benefits. More than eight million households who are on means-tested benefits will be able to get the £650 payment.
Chronicle Live reports that pensioners will receive an additional £300 and people on disability payments will get an extra £150. State benefits themselves will not be increased this financial year but the Chancellor said they are likely to rise next April.
