Culinary Brits are expanding their horizons, as nearly three-quarters have tried new international cuisines in the past 12 months – including Japanese, Moroccan, and Peruvian.
More than half of Brits (53%), out of 2,000 adults polled, would describe themselves as “foodies”, with 16% having sampled six or more new cuisines in the past year that they had never tasted before.
The most popular international cuisines are Italian and Chinese – but dishes from the likes of Turkey (32%), Korea (19%), and South Africa (14%) have been tried for the first time this year.
