Seven Glasgow stereotypes that are actually pretty accurate

There's more than one stereotype about Glaswegians floating about and luckily, we're made of hardy stuff and can take it.

We'll accept the comments and judgements because well, sometimes you have to admit they're true.

Some we're happy to be a part of and some we're happy to watch from a safe distance.

Here, we take a look at seven Glasgow stereotypes that are pretty accurate.

Steaming on Sauchiehall Street

One of our favourite past times. You know the scene - chips n cheese in hand, can of Irn-Bru in the other as you join the never-ending queue for a taxi or stare manically at passing cars trying to figure out if its your Uber.

There's always the crowds in bare feet or the free flip-flops if they've been lucky.

Taps aff

These days it doesn't take much. As soon as the temperature tops 16C it can only mean one thing. 'Taps aff' and head to Kelvingrove for a bevy and a BBQ. The sights you see when the sun is out.

Taxi driver chat

Sober or not, you can't get into a taxi without asking the driver: "Been busy the night?". Alternatively, you're putting on the performance of your life trying to prove you're not one of the other drunken messes that the driver has surely seen that evening.

Blue or green

Another question you have to ask when you find out that someone is from Glasgow.

Keeping your eye on the Duke of Wellington statue

Is the cone there? You hope as you walk by and if it isn't? Cue mass uproar and a tweet being sent out IMMEDIATELY.

Bevy

Ah, childhood memories. Most Glaswegians will remember the struggles of trying to buy alcohol as an under-ager. Waiting outside the shop and asking unsuspecting (or very suspecting) adults to jump in for you. The whole experience has to be up there with one of the most stressful but exhilarating you'll ever have.

Here we!

Glasgow is famous for its legendary music venues, but it seems almost a tradition now that every gig enjoys a rendition of "here we, here we, here we f*****g go!". Some see it as cringe, and some see it as their destiny.
