Seven people have died in a series of horror crashes across the June bank holiday weekend in the worst weekend on Irish roads this year.
Gardai issued a warning to motorists as Assistant Commissioner Paula Hilman said the rise in fatalities on the road was a "worrying trend".
As of today, 77 people have been killed on the road in 2022 compared to 44 at the same time last year.
On Friday, a man in his 60s died in a crash in Cork while two motorcyclists from the UK, aged in their 50s and 60s, were killed on the M50 in Dublin.
A male motorcyclist in his 40s was killed in a Kilkenny crash on Saturday and two men died after a three-car collision in Sligo on Sunday.

A man aged in his early 20s became the seventh fatality over the bank holiday weekend when he died in a single-car collision in Limerick in the early hours of Monday morning.
Speaking at a press conference today, Assistant Commissioner Paula Hilman, with responsibility for Roads Policing and Community Engagement, said the it had been a "tragic" weekend on the roads.
She also said that the increase in numbers of road deaths in 2022 was a "worrying” trend.
Ms Hilman said: "Every number we talk about, that’s a person, it’s somebody’s loved one, it’s an empty seat at the table and we should never lose sight of that."
She also urged motorists travelling home on Monday, after the bank holiday weekend, to "slow down" as "one second of inattention can have devastating consequences".
Meanwhile, more than 110 people were arrested for drink or drug driving across Ireland over the June bank holiday weekend.
