SES Completes FCC's C-Band Transition

LUXEMBOURG—SES has announced that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has validated the completion of SES’s Phase II accelerated C-band clearing and relocation activities ahead of the Dec. 2023 deadline. 

The announcement will speed up the rollout of 5G services by making additional C-band spectrum available and will make SES eligible for a $2.99 billion payment for moving operations out of the spectrum. SES completed Phase 1 of the program in 2021.
