A serving prisoner said "sorry" in court after he admitted he had thrown the contents of a bucket of urine and faeces over a prison worker. Liam Thompson, 33, now of Nottingham Prison, shouted at the officer in HMP Lowdham Grange that "you are not going to take the **** out of me any more".
Nottingham Crown Court heard on Thursday (May 11) Thompson, who has serious mental health difficulties, admitted the offence. His explanation to the police was that he believed the officer was unfairly picking on him, tormenting him, and things came to a head when he wanted a new inhaler.
But Judge Stuart Rafferty KC said Thompson was angry and decided he would "pot her". "You spent the night unhappily gathering the unnecessary materials which were not just urine but faeces as well", he said.
