Five fire crews were called to a blaze at the Mumbai restaurant in Blackpill, Swansea, today.
South Wales Fire Service said it had sent five fire engines to the restaurant from Morriston, Swansea Central and Swansea West.
No injuries are suspected to have occurred in the fire and no road closures are in place as the situation is ongoing.
Pictures from the scene show black smoke coming from the rear of the building and fire services using ladders to tackle the flames.
There appears to be severe damage to the roof at the rear of the building.
