Bean MP David Smith says he had little to do with an "invite-only" $1 million grant in his electorate, among half a billion doled out to safe Labor and marginal electorates in what critics describe as "serious pork-barrelling".
ACT Liberal Senate candidate Nick Tyrrell called on Finance Minister and ACT Labor senator Katy Gallagher to explain how the grant was awarded, pointing to her previous comments that the awarding of community grants needed to be "open and transparent".
