Serial Nottinghamshire burglar ransacked family home just after they moved in

A serial burglar has been jailed after he targeted a family just two weeks after they moved to Nottinghamshire. Jonathon White broke into their new house and stole a haul of expensive items including a laptop, video cameras and jewellery.

The family moved their belongings into the rented property in Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, on September 1 last year after moving up from Luton. They then went away and were planning on moving into the property a few weeks later.

But their hopes of a happy start in Nottinghamshire were shattered when White, of Raylawn Street, Mansfield, ransacked their new home sometime between September 16 and 18. Forensic evidence linked White – who has a string of previous convictions for burglary - to the crime and the 39-year-old was theb arrested.
