Sergio Ramos has explained why he decided to go big with his goal celebration in Paris Saint-Germain 's 3-0 win over Angers last Wednesday night.
The Spanish defender has struggled for form and fitness since joining the French club last summer, making just 10 appearances in all competitions. However, Ramos will come away from his first season in Ligue 1 with a winners' medal after Mauricio Pochettino 's side were confirmed as champions on the weekend.
This is because PSG sit 13 points clear of second-place Marseille with four games to go, meaning they have won their fourth title in five seasons. It proved to be disappointing campaign in the Champions League, though, as the Paris club lost in the last 16 against Real Madrid, while they also crashed out of the Coupe de France to Nice.
Ramos has opened up on his first season at PSG after missing a number of matches through injury. The 34-year-old sustained a calf issue in pre-season, ruling him out of the opening 19 games.
He has also had muscular problems which have limited his game time. When he has featured, Ramos has made an impact, scoring twice and helping PSG to eight victories, drawing the other two.
After netting the second goal in their win over Angers on April 20, Ramos has admitted he wanted to show his teammates how motivated he was with his celebration. Kylian Mbappe and Marquinhos were also on target on the night.

"I've spent [too] few hours on the pitch this season in the PSG jersey," Ramos said in a video produced by the club.
"I'm at the prime of my career and eager to show my new team, Paris Saint-Germain, how much football I have inside me. [My celebration against Angers] was a reflection of the sacrifice I've had to make."
"At first it was hard to adapt," he added. "I had been with another club many years, where you had everything under control, the club, the house, the children's school. It was not so easy to get to a city as spectacular as Paris. It was difficult for us to find a home.
"With respect to the team, it was fast to adapt because I knew some players, like Keylor Navas. We had an extraordinary and unique rapport at Real Madrid and to have coincided here with him has made everything so much easier. It is good to change, to value what you've experienced and what you know. You get a broader view."
