Sergio Aguero has recalled a spiky clash between Roberto Mancini and his Manchester City players during a conversation with Mario Balotelli.
Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko were on the end of the Italian’s fury back when the strikers led the line at the Etihad, according to an anecdote Aguero shared while commentating on City’s Champions League win over Real Madrid alongside Balotelli.
“Do you remember the day they fought?” said the Argentine during his Twitch channel watch party.
“Mancini entered the locker room very angry. He took off his jacket, he rolled up his shirt sleeves and started cursing in Italian.
“To Carlitos he said, ‘You're going back to Argentina’. And Dzeko asked him, ‘Please, speak in English’. An angry Mancini replied, ‘Ah, speak in English... You’re going back to Bosnia!’.”
Aguero also gave an insight into life under Pep Guardiola, the City boss who he believes Balotelli would have never been able to play under.
The 33-year-old starred under the Spanish coach after his arrival in 2016 but lost his place in the line-up during an injury-hit final year at the club.
“I was exhausted with Pep, but I played,” he added.
“You [Mario] would not have played with Pep. From so much pressing I got tired and then I had no legs to attack.”
