Sergej Milinkovic-Savic agent confirms Arsenal transfer stance as Edu considers late £50m swoop

Arsenal technical director Edu has been given a small glimpse of hope in the race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years, with Manchester United often said to be monitoring his situation.

However, football.london understand that Mikel Arteta is in the market for a midfielder this summer - even after having already welcomed Fabio Vieira to the Emirates Stadium. It's said that the Gunners are interested in signing Youri Tielemans, but with Thursday's transfer deadline approaching and a deal yet to materialise, Edu has explored alternatives.

One of whom is said to be Milinkovic-Savic. According to Italian publication Il Mattino in July, Lazio were hoping to sell the Serbia international to either Arsenal or United for a fee between €55million (£46m) and €60million (£50m).
