Serge Gnabry answers Chelsea and Arsenal transfer question as Thomas Tuchel snatches alternative

Serge Gnabry has explained why he's penned a four-year extension at Bayern Munich despite having faced an increasingly uncertain future at the Allianz Arena this summer. The 27-year-old was heavily linked with an exit from the Bundesliga as he approached the final months of his contract in Germany.

football.london understood that Chelsea were considering an offer for the forward following the Blues' failure to prise Raphinha away from Barcelona. Despite Arsenal's long-standing interest in Gnabry, it was understood that the Gunners weren't looking to rival the west Londoners' interest.

But now, both Thomas Tuchel and Mikel Arteta have walked empty handed and the Germany international has explained why he sees his future at Bayern. On signing the contract, the former Arsenal starlet said: "I thought a lot about what I wanted as a player for the next few years - and came to the conclusion: I want to stay at Bayern, win everything here again and experience something - above all the Champions League again.

"Celebrating titles, but this time with our fans. It's something special because I can play here with my friends at the highest level. I certainly wouldn't experience that at any other club. I want to experience great moments here again - and not somewhere else. The hunger for big titles doesn't go away."

Gnabry featured 34 times for Bayern in the Bundesliga this season, directly contributing towards 20 goals. His impressive displays guided Julian Nagelsmann's side to the club's tenth successive league title, rightfully courting the interest of Europe's biggest sides.

With Chelsea and Arsenal missing out on the forward, it seems as if Tuchel has snatched Arteta's alternative. The Blues have signed teenage sensation Omari Hutchinson from the Gunners.

The highly rated 18-year-old is set to join up with the west Londoners' under-23s side ahead of the 2021/22 season. He's an exciting a winger who likes to cut inside onto his left-foot.

Hutchinson played a pivotal role for Arsenal in the Premier League 2 last season, though Chelsea have swooped in and signed the prospect in what could be a huge acquisition.
